How the Parlay Builder Works
The Parlay Builder automatically generates one optimized 3-leg parlay each day by combining the highest-edge picks from all active sports models. Here's the process:
9:00 AM ET
Projection job runs, gathering candidates from all active sports
10:00 AM ET
Picks lock and become official for the day
Settlement
Results tracked and CLV measured after games complete
- 1.Candidate Gathering - Collects all picks meeting the minimum 10% edge threshold from NBA, NHL, Tennis, and Soccer models.
- 2.Availability Check - Verifies each pick is available on 3+ major sportsbooks (DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars).
- 3.Odds Diversity - Selects legs targeting one favorite (<-131), one pickem (-130 to +130), and one dog (>+131) for balanced risk/reward.
- 4.Combined Edge Filter - Final parlay must have 8%+ combined edge to be released. If not met, no parlay is published that day.
- 5.One Pick Per Game - Prevents correlation by ensuring only one leg per game_id is included.
Why 3-Leg Parlays?
Our parlay strategy is designed to maximize expected value while managing variance:
- 3 legs is the sweet spot - Enough legs to achieve meaningful odds (+400 to +800 typical), but few enough to maintain positive expected value.
- Cross-sport diversification - Legs from different sports reduce correlation risk that same-game parlays face.
- Quality over quantity - We only release a parlay when all legs meet strict edge thresholds. No parlay is better than a bad parlay.
